![]() Breast CancerBreast cancer is the most diagnosed cancer in women (excluding skin cancer) and is the second-leading cause of cancer deaths in women.There are many factors that can increase the risk of developing breast cancer including family history, menstruation and childbearing history, obesity, physical inactivity, and alcohol consumption. Routine mammograms after the age of 40 are effective in detecting breast cancer at its earliest and most treatable stage. Women today have more treatment options than ever before which may include breast-conserving surgery (depending on cancer stage), radiation, chemotherapy, and hormone therapy. There are also many prosthetic and reconstruction options to help breast cancer patients cope with the physical changes of treatment.
